Email marketing is an essential tool to growing your business. In today’s fast-paced world of Internet business and e-commerce email marketing offers open, conversational and interactive communication.

Many businesses implement the use of email marketing in tandem with their overall marketing strategy. However, the only ways to determine the most effective use of email marketing for your organization is to test, test and test some more! Without carefully measuring the results of different variations on timing, frequency and number of contacts there is no way to know what works best for you to achieve an optimal response rate.

When developing an email campaign there are three important elements to consider:

Timing

Like mentioned above, it is important to test your emails and determine the optimal time to send them out. Keep in mind; if you send emails out between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. you are able to reach your audience before beginning the workday. Sending emails out between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. also increases potential responses because people are starting to relax from their day.

Subject matter

If you want people to respond to your emails include a clear call to action. Choose solid words and connect using “you” in your call to action. Email marketing is over flooded with people just like you who want to reach consumers, so make your subject unique.

Tone

Do not let the tone of an email deteriorate your chances of responses. Keeping emails in a positive tone and not using accusing words allows people to connect with you as a human being. Even though you are not in front your customer and the email enables them to read your tone through email.

Keeping these three elements in mind will allow your emails to be accepted and create a relationship with your customers. With every relationship that is established this gives you an opportunity to get a customer and keep your advertising expenditures low in the process.
